Our keynote speaker

Meet Shawn Hart from the RZIM.

Shawn’s topics for Saturday will include How We Can Be Sure Jesus is the ONLY ONE in the Midst of All the Secular Gods and Religions Found in the World Today and Why Trust the Bible.

Shawn is a dynamic speaker and leads mission weeks at prominent universities. Cross-cultural mission work with two unreached people groups stirred in him a love for culture and how to respectfully engage with people from diverse cultural perspectives.

Shawn is a speaker for RZIM who serves as the Zacharias Institute Ministries Director and co-host of the Cover to Cover podcast. He began serving in ministry with Young Life shortly after committing his life to Christ in his early twenties. During these years, a desire to take the gospel to unreached people groups in the world motivated Shawn and his wife, Carly, eventually taking them to Africa where they served with Africa Inland Mission from 2008-2012. They served among an unreached, animistic people group in the mountains of South Sudan as well as an unreached Muslim people group on a coastal African island.

While in Africa, Shawn saw the need and benefit of apologetics in evangelism with discipleship. Cross-cultural mission work stirred in him a love for culture along with an interest in thinking about how to respectfully engage with people from diverse cultural perspectives.

Shawn worked in campus ministry prior to joining RZIM and he is passionate about bringing the gospel to university campuses. He manages RZIM’s university mission weeks and continues to lead the movement he helped start in Portland, Oregon.

He obtained a certificate in theological studies from the University of Oxford while studying at OCCA The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He holds a bachelor of science in religious studies and history from Excelsior College and a master of arts in ministry and leadership from Western Seminary. Shawn currently lives in Alpharetta, Georgia, with his wife and their three young children.
