FAITH FRIENDS ACADEMY program of First Baptist Church began in the early 70's. Ever since our opening day we have strived for the highest in educational goals. It is now considered one of the best programs around. Recently we added a four year old, half day program and it has been met with tremendous success. This past year we added a full daycare program for infants through 4 year olds. Our parents are extremely pleased with the training their young ones are receiving and the advancements they are making.
** 6 weeks - 4years: FULL DAY CHILD CARE** Year round except major holidays Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (school in the morning and child care in the afternoon)
**TWO YEAR OLD CLASS** (do not have to be potty trained) Monday thru Wednesday, 8:15 AM - 11:30 AM or Monday thru Friday, 8:15 AM - 11:30 AM

Our preschoolers and children (ages 4 thru 6th grade) will go directly from their 9:45 Sunday School classes to their respective "Little Church" at 11:00.
PRESCHOOL WORSHIP meets in the 5 year old classroom of our new Preschool/Children's wing (Building C-105).
CHILDREN'S WORSHIP for 1st through 6th graders is presently being led by Emily Meadows. Our children will spend their full time in Praise Town (Building B-105) without coming to the sanctuary during the 11:00 hour.
Parents, please pick up your children as soon as your 11:00 Sunday School or Worship is over.
MEET OUR PRESCHOOL/CHILDREN'S MINISTER
Emily Meadows
Emily is a graduate of Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Georgia, with a major in Music Education. She also has a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Born and raised in Barnesville, she has been a member of First Baptist Church here for 22 years. Emily works with the preschool and young children at First Baptist, and her main objective is to help serve the parents and children of our community. In her own words, "Our desire is to bring children to Jesus and create and maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere in which to teach our children God's love and care for them."
Our new Preschool/Children's Wing was dedicated on January 17, 2007, and used for the first time the following Sunday. This completed the task our church started in 1952 when we built our present Educational Building. Included in that design was preparation for a new wing to continue off the south end of that building where we have built the new 16,600 square foot Phase 1 addition.

The Challenge: “…Everything for Him!” If First Baptist Church is to continue to build God’s Kingdom in Lamar County and beyond, and if we are to continue to experience God’s blessing of growth and influence, then we must continue to expand our facilities to accommodate the people that God expects us to reach and serve. That is the motivation behind our church’s vision in building Phase 1 of our Master Site Plan – everything will be for Him! The estimated cost of this building project was upwards of $2 million.
